Recipe: The Flat White Martini

The A¬†Flat White is a New Zealand and Australian classic. You’ll get strange looks if you order one anywhere else (except Starbucks, who have their own version of a Flat White, but not really).

The Flat White is different from the Italian -cino’s because in this drink, your beautiful espresso meets not-too-hot, not-too-frothed milk giving a full, creamy body.

Here’s the Quick Brown Fox version of a Flat White – in the form of a martini. It’s essentially an espresso martini with a creamy layer on top. You’ll drink it chilled, but it’s creamy texture and delicious coffee notes will mean you keep going back for more.

To make:

In a shaker, add:

Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass

In another shaker, add:

20ml almond milk
20ml cream
20ml Bailey’s Cream Liqueur
Two cubes of ice

Shake, and pour on top of the drink in the martini glass.

Garnish with cocoa nibs and a sprinkle of  cinnamon.
